COVID-19 Advisory Before Traveling to the USA
The travel sector has only taken a few months to adjust to the new normal. For those who haven’t flown in a while, things may be quite a bit different than they were before.
While carrying your power adaptor and shampoo in small bottles are still important, they’re no longer the only considerations while traveling.
To help you prepare for your trip, we’ve put up our Covid travel checklist.
Which States Do You Want to Go To?
- If you can verify that you are completely vaccinated, you will open more doors to travel globally. The normal condition is that 14 days have passed after your second vaccination.
- Make sure your vaccination’s brand and batch number are approved by the country you plan on visiting before embarking on your trip.
- Consider thoroughly reviewing the entrance requirements for each destination or transit point you want to visit, and maintain doing so right up until you leave and even while you are on your journey.
- Proof of Negative COVID-19 Test or Documentation of Recovery from COVID-19 is required for all air passengers two years of age or older boarding a flight from a foreign country to the United States.
- It’s also a good idea to keep in mind that various parts of a nation may have their own regulations.
- Remember that even if you’ve been granted permission to enter a country or state, things may still be quite different from what you’re used to. Make sure you do your research ahead of time to find out which tourist sites and restaurants are open, as well as when and where masks are required.
- Consider canceling the trip if you can’t get flexible, refundable flights and accommodations.
- Travel insurance may be required in certain countries, so don’t forget about it (be sure to check the Covid-19 small print).
Prepare Extra Budgeting
Flights, car rentals, lodging, food, and buses are all going up in price, and so is everything else. The number of examinations you may be needed to take, and the cost of each one should be checked.
If the laws force you to self-isolate at home or in a designated hotel, you’ll need to account for this as well while planning.
Suitable Packing
To avoid any last-minute hiccups, make sure you know exactly what paperwork you need to bring with you on each leg of your travel (or simply as backup).
Determine what applications are necessary or suggested for your destination and fill them up with the essential information, depending on where you are in the globe and where you’re traveling.
In addition to your standard packing list, we suggest bringing disposable face masks and a small bottle of hand sanitizer in your carry-on.
Due to the Covid-19 measures, water fountains may or may not be operational at the airports you want to visit. Therefore include your (empty) refillable water bottle in your hand baggage as usual.
Finally, you may not be able to buy last-minute goods like toilet paper or specific meals and snacks at your favorite airport restaurants and retailers. If you know that you’ll need anything on your trip, get it before you go.
